Clinical Nurse

Job Description

The Daughters of Charity is seeking a qualified and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our team at St. Louise Eye Clinic in Adigrat.

Position Overview:

The Clinical Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive ophthalmic nursing care to patients, with a focus on cataract surgery patients. This is a full-time position based at our clinic in Adigrat.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pre-operative assessment and preparation for cataract surgery patients
• Assist ophthalmologists during surgical procedures
• Monitor patients during post-operative recovery
• Administer medications and eye drops as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Ensure sterile conditions in the operating theatre and recovery areas
• Manage medical supplies and equipment inventory

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma or BSc in Nursing from a recognized institution
• Valid nursing license from Ethiopian Health Professionals Council
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience
• Experience in ophthalmic nursing is highly preferred
• Knowledge of surgical aseptic techniques

Required Skills:

• Excellent patient care and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Fluency in Tigrinya; English is an advantage
