Tender Description

The Daughters of Charity Tigray invites qualified contractors (GC/BC Class 6 and above) to submit sealed bids for the construction of the St. Louise Eye Clinic G+1 Building in Mekelle.

Project Overview:

• Construction of a two-story (G+1) building for St. Louise Eye Clinic
• Location: Mekelle, Tigray Region
• Total floor area: Approximately 450m²
• Expected completion: 8 months from contract signing

Scope of Work:

• Site preparation and excavation
• Structural construction (foundation, columns, beams, slabs)
• Masonry and finishing works
• Electrical and plumbing installations
• Doors, windows, and fixtures installation
• External works and landscaping

Eligibility & Requirements

Eligibility Requirements:

• Valid Trade License for Building Construction (Grade GC/BC Class 6 and above)
• VAT Registration Certificate
• Tax Clearance Certificate (current year)
• Financial capability to undertake the project
• Proven experience in similar building construction projects (minimum 3 projects)
• Qualified technical staff and equipment

Scope of Work

Detailed Scope of Work:

1. Foundation & Structural Works:

• Excavation and foundation works as per structural drawings
• Reinforced concrete columns, beams, and slabs
• Quality concrete work (Grade C25 minimum)

2. Masonry & Finishing:

• Hollow concrete block (HCB) walls
• Internal and external plastering
• Ceramic tile flooring in clinical areas
• Terrazzo flooring in corridors
• Oil painting for walls and ceilings

3. Electrical Installation:

• Complete electrical wiring and distribution boards
• Lighting fixtures and power outlets
• Emergency lighting system
• Generator connection provision

4. Plumbing & Sanitary:

• Water supply system
• Sanitary fixtures and fittings
• Drainage and sewerage system

Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions:

1. Bid Security: 2% of the total bid amount in the form of CPO (Cashier's Payment Order) or Bank Guarantee.
2. Bid Validity: Bids shall remain valid for 90 days from the deadline date.
3. Site Visit: Bidders are encouraged to visit the construction site before submitting bids. Contact our office to arrange a site visit.
4. Bid Language: All bids must be submitted in English or Tigrinya.
5. Price: Prices should be quoted in Ethiopian Birr (ETB) including all taxes.
6. Payment Terms: Payment will be made based on certified work progress (monthly certificates).
7. Contract Period: 8 months from the date of commencement.
8. Liquidated Damages: 0.1% per day of delay, maximum 10% of contract value.
